When it comes to the salary of our teachers there is no room for negotiation.
Teachers offer so much more to our kids and communities than we give them credit for. Educating, caring, mentoring, coaching, and pushing the children of district 25 to succeed is the epitome of what it means to serve our community.
So why are we paying them starvation wages? Why don't we pay them what they're worth?
If elected the teachers of District 25 could count on me to fight for a salary increase that reflects their value to our community. That means increasing the salaries of our teachers to no less than $60,000 per year.
Our educators shouldn't have to worry about our children at school and then worry about their own financial security at home.
