High Speed Rural Internet
For literal decades now the internet has been available to the people of South Dakota with one incredibly notable exception. Our rural community. As a young person it baffles me that our legislators have failed to create a rural broadband system to help our family farms. I grew up on a farm near Flandreau and I can tell you the struggle is real. But it doesn't have to be this way any longer.
My plan to expand internet access to our rural community starts with the creation of municipal internet service providers. This service of providing internet access to our neighbors in the country is as necessary as providing water and electricity. The internet aught to be treated as a public utility in South Dakota and if elected I would push to not only expand service, but make it faster, cheaper, and more responsive in the process.
